Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol, with the assistance of the Kearney Police Department and the TRIDENT Task Force, have arrested a Kearney man as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

Investigators served search warrants as part of the investigation this week, according to NSP. One search warrant, conducted at a storage unit, uncovered 25 pounds of marijuana, 1,699 THC vape cartridges, 879 grams of THC wax, 4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and five firearms.

An arrest warrant was subsequently issued for 29-year-old Austin Dean of Kearney, and a second search warrant was served on Thursday, Feb. 26, at Dean’s home in southwest Kearney.

Officers located and arrested Dean at his home. A search of the house turned up another 1.7 pounds of marijuana, 105 additional THC vape cartridges, 269 dosage units of LSD, and additional psilocybin mushroom products.

Dean is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance, and five counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. He was lodged in Buffalo County Jail.

NSP says additional charges are possible. The investigation remains ongoing.
