After Mexican security forces killed Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera, leader of the powerful Jalisco New Generation Cartel last weekend , cartel violence has erupted across Mexico. One local travel expert says the situation remains fluid and further instability should be expected in the coming weeks.
Steve Glenn with Executive Travel Recommends that people with upcoming vacations to Mexico should strongly consider postponing or redirecting their plans. He says even well-secured resort destinations can be impacted by sudden transportation disruptions and regional unrest.
“Safety conditions can shift quickly with little warning,” Glenn says. “Executive Travel recommends clients with Mexico travel planned in the next 60–90 days evaluate alternative destinations.” Glenn says their advisors are actively assisting clients in securing comparable warm-weather vacations that provide exceptional experiences with greater stability and peace of mind.
He provided KLIN News with a list of warm weather destinations if your Mexico trip can be changed.
