LFR’s Job Shadow Day For High Schoolers Set For February 24

By Tom Stanton Feb 20, 2026 | 2:53 PM

High School aged students will have a chance to see what it’s like to be a firefighter and paramedic during the Explore LFR Job Shadow Day this Tuesday.  Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says it will be held from 8:00 a.m. to noon at the MSC building, 901 West Bond Suite #200.

“We go through medical scenarios, we go through fire scenarios and we let them go through our rigs.  They go home with emergency skills.”  Lierman says that includes Hands Only CPR and Stop The Bleed.

Students will also get an advanced airway techniques demonstration and go through physical agility prep.  They also get to try on firefighters gear. Lierman says this one day class has been popular in recent years with nearly 50 students taking part.
