The City of Lincoln has declared a Snow Emergency effective Thursday night. The city says two parking bans will go into effect at 10:00.
-
Snow Emergency Parking Ban: A snow emergency parking ban means parking is banned on both sides of emergency snow routes, arterial streets, school and bus routes. Maps of these routes are available at lincoln.ne.gov/snow under the “Parking Bans & Ordinances” tab. Please plan for alternate parking to allow crews room to clear the way safely and efficiently.
-
Residential Parking Ban: A residential parking ban means parking is banned only on the even-numbered side of residential streets during 2026. This will assist snowplow crews in clearing neighborhood streets faster and more efficiently. A residential parking ban applies to streets that are not emergency snow routes, arterials or bus routes or included in a snow removal district.
LTU crews are plowing arterial routes and additional crews will begin plowing operations on residential streets at 10:00 p.m. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 6 a.m. Friday. Additional snow accumulations of one to three inches are possible.
Streets are snow covered and drivers should be alert for slick spots. For additional winter operations information and to track snowplowing progress, go to lincoln.ne.gov/snow.
