For more than 90 years his face has been front and center for many friendly games and has also been blamed for family feuds. During a Thursday morning news conference Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird welcomed Mr. Monopoly to City Hall.
She was joined by Josie Cole with Top Trumps USA, a business partner of Hasbro, in announcing that Lincoln will be getting it’s own Monopoly game. “They want out community’s input in determining which local landmarks, which small businesses, traditions and hidden gems should be on that board,” Gaylor Baird says.
Cole says there is no limit to the possibilities. “We want to know your favorite place to go get pizza, where you take your family when they visit from out of town and all of your favorite things about the city you live in.”
Cole says submissions will be accepted over the next eight weeks and the board will be full by the end of April. The Lincoln edition is scheduled to hit the shelves in October and there will be a large public reveal event.
