No. 22 Maryland women’s basketball cruised to a 78-60 win over Nebraska Saturday at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Terrapins led almost the entire contest, only briefly trailing at the beginning of the game.

Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu led Maryland (19-6, 7-6 Big Ten) with 16 points on an efficient 7-for-8 shooting, narrowly missing a double-double with nine rebounds. Oluchi Okananwa scored 14, Rainey Welson tallied 13 and Yarden Garzon contributed 11. Logan Nissley led the Cornhuskers (16-8, 5-8 Big Ten) with 22 points on 8-for-16 shooting including six three-pointers, but no other Nebraska player scored more than eight.

Maryland dominated the post, outrebounding the Huskers 39-26 while outscoring them in the paint, 44-22. The Terrapins led the game 15-11 after one quarter, then opened a 10-point lead after scoring seven straight points to lead 23-13 with 7:28 to go until halftime. Maryland built a 9-0 run later in the second quarter to open a 35-22 lead with 3:32 to go in the second quarter. The Terrapins pushed the lead to 17 by halftime, taking a 45-28 advantage to the intermission. An 11-2 run by Maryland late in the third quarter pushed the lead to 70-40 with 1:37 to go in the third quarter and all but sealed the victory for the Terps. Nebraska outscored Maryland by six in the fourth quarter, but by then, the outcome was decided.

The Huskers return to action Thursday to take on Minnesota in Minneapolis. Pregame coverage is slated for 6:30 p.m., with tipoff at 7 p.m. on KLIN and B-107.3.
