Lincoln Airport has been named Nebraska’s 2025 Airport of the Year in the Part 139 Airport category by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Division of Aeronautics.
LNK Spokeswoman Rachel Barth tells KLIN News this category covers the commercial side of the state’s aviation system. The award recognizes the airport’s performance in air service development, infrastructure investment, operational reliability and community engagement.
“This recognition belongs to the entire Lincoln Airport team and the community that supports us every step of the way,” said Anthony Dudas, Lincoln Airport Director. “This award reflects the momentum already underway at Lincoln Airport and we’re just getting started.”
In 2025, Lincoln Airport expanded commercial air service by adding Breeze Airways flights to Orlando, Las Vegas and Orange County, along with new American Airlines service to Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago and Phoenix. Airport officials said those additions increased the number of carriers serving Lincoln and expanded daily departures.
The airport also began its largest infrastructure project to date, a nearly $100 million runway rehabilitation project funded through a combination of federal, state, and local sources.
The award was formally presented to LNK at the Aviation Symposium on Jan. 29 in Kearney.
