A 48-year-old Lincoln man was sentenced to decades behind bars on Thursday in federal court in Lincoln for one count of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams of methamphetamine actual with one prior conviction.
United States District Judge Susan M. Bazis sentenced Jamaal McNeil, to 30 years in prison. McNeil was convicted of selling methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana in Lincoln for at least six months in 2023.
Lincoln Police contacted McNeil in his vehicle on November 29, 2023. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted due to the smell of marijuana. Investigators found multiple plastic baggies. Six of the baggies field-tested positive for cocaine, six baggies of methamphetamine and three baggies contained marijuana.
Investigators also found four hydrocodone pills. McNeil was arrested and $853 was found on his person. During a search of his home, investigators found more methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana, as well as digital scales, and nearly $2,500 in cash.
There is no parole in the federal system. After McNeil’s release from prison, he will begin a 10-year term of supervised release.
