The 7th annual Lincoln Trail-A-Thon is back in 2026.

Run by the the Great Plains Trails Network (GPTN), participants will be notified monthly of one of 12 featured trails in the city. The challenge is to bike, run, walk, or jog 92 miles of Lincoln’s trail network by December 31, 2026.

Monthly emails from GPTN will include trail details, tips, and progress updates. Trails can be completed in any order, allowing trail-users to move at their own pace while exploring Lincoln. New this year, participants can traverse bonus trails for a milestone of 100-miles.

Organizers say the Trail-A-Thon is designed to keep Lincoln moving and healthy while enjoying the city’s robust trails system. The cost to participate is $25 for ages 19 and older and $10 for ages 6-18. Proceeds help GPTN’s effort to expand and enhance local trails.

Participants who complete the monthly routes will be entered to win drawings throughout the year. Complete all the routes before 2027 to be entered for a chance to win the grand prize $100 gift card.
