Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews were sent to an apartment building under construction just north of 48th and Holdrege around 8:00 Tuesday morning after a stairwell collapsed on a worker. Public Information Officer MJ Lierman tells KLIN News the stairwell collapsed from the third story to the second.
“We utilized ladders, ropes and our Stokes basket,” Lierman says. They were able to bring the worker down from a second floor opening and they were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
