A man is in jail after fleeing from Lincoln Police in a stolen vehicle Friday night.  LPD says just after 11:00 a victim reported his 2006 Lexus GX 470 had been stolen from the area of N 27th and Vine Streets.  Around 12:20 Saturday morning an officer spotted it near NW 12th and W Bond St.

Police say the driver fled from police when the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the officer did not pursue it.  LPD says a short time later, another officer came upon the vehicle after it had collided with a house near NW 4th and W Dawes.

Police say the force of the crash damaged the foundation and broke a natural gas line. The driver fled on foot from the scene.  LPD says several officers arrived in the area and after a short foot pursuit and 38-year-old Clevone Furby was taken into custody.

He was booked into the Lancaster County Jail for theft by unlawful taking $5,000 or more, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, criminal mischief, obstructing a peace officer and leaving the scene and failing to furnish required information.

No injuries were reported.
