Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying suspects in two separate cases: a tobacco store larceny in north Lincoln; the other involving a morning hit-and-run accident.
The first case occurred on around 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2026, outside of Aladdin’s Tobacco at N. 27th and Orchard Street.
LPD Video Forensics Technician Becky Keller said the victim in this case said he dropped his wallet on the sidewalk outside of the shop, but when he went to retrieve it, his wallet was gone.
Investigators reviewed security video with staff that showed an older white male picking up the wallet and not turning it over to staff. The suspect arrived in an older light blue/gray Dodge Caravan, with faded paint on the hood.
Security video was too low-quality to identify the vehicle’s license plate number.
Video and photos from the incident are available below.
The second case occurred around 8:30 a.m. back on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, near South 48th and Randolph Street.
Keller said the victim in this case was driving southbound when an older white Dodge Ram driving behind her illegally passed her in the northbound turn lane and tried to overtake her. The truck missed, clipped the front end of the victim’s vehicle, and sent her crashing into a tree.
The victim was taken to the hospital where she suffered trauma to her head. She was treated and released. Police are looking for the driver of the Dodge Ram, which investigators believe could be as old as 1994-2001, and it may have had in-transit temporary tags on it.
Photos from the incident are available below.
