NWS B

A return to more winter-like weather will move into the region for the weekend as a strong cold front arrives later today (Thursday).  Ahead of that, breezy Southwest wins of 20 to 25 mph will be the dominant weather feature into this afternoon.

Overnight into Friday morning as the front arrives, strong 40 to 45 mph Northwest winds with gusts of 50 to 55 mph possible.  By Friday morning,  there is a 20 to 45 percent chance of snow north of a line from David City to Omaha to Oakland, IA.  Snow showers are possible South of that line and continue into early afternoon may result in some slick roads and possible whiteout conditions.

Very cold conditions are forecast for both Saturday and Sunday mornings with wind chills ranging from single digits to teens below zero.
