A Wisconsin man is in the Lancaster County Jail facing drug charges following a traffic stop on I-80 near 56th Street around 2:00 Tuesday afternoon. LSO Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says 31-year-old Francisco Trinidad was driving a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander was stopped for speeding and following too close.
At the time of the contact, Houchin says the deputy could smell marijuana and a probable cause search was completed. “During the search, they found six bags of cocaine weighing 3.3 pounds each, for a total of just under 20 pounds,” Houchin says.
He says the drugs were found in the roof rack of the luggage carrier. Trinidad was booked for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and cited for no drug stamp and possession of marijuana. Houchin says Trinidad was heading back to Wisconsin with the drugs when he was stopped.
