The Nebraska men’s basketball team has matched its highest ranking ever, as the Cornhuskers were ranked as the No. 8 team in the country according to the latest Associated Press poll. Nebraska, off to a school-record 16-0 start and on a 20-game winning streak as a program, rose two spots in the poll from last week’s No. 10 ranking. This matches the 1965-66 Huskers, which was ranked No. 8 on Feb. 21, 1966. That team had been ranked No. 9 the two weeks prior, and fell to No. 9 the week after, constituting the only four weeks the Huskers were ranked in the Top 10 before last week. Nebraska is next in action Tuesday against Oregon at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m., with pregame coverage beginning at 7 p.m. on KLIN.
