Nebraska football has its quarterback. UNLV quarterback Anthony Colandrea committed to play for the Huskers Tuesday in his final year of eligibility. Oregon State linebacker Dexter Foster and San Diego State safety Dwayne McDougle also committed to Nebraska Tuesday, giving NU five portal pledges on Tuesday alone and seven for the portal season, which runs until Jan. 16.
Colandrea was the Mountain West’s Player of the Year this past season for the Rebels, who won 10 games. He completed 66 percent of his passes for 3,459 yards and 23 touchdowns while rushing for 649 yards and 10 more TDs. He’s thrown for 7.542 yards and 49 touchdowns with 29 interceptions in his 33 career games. He’s also run for 1,151 yards and 12 touchdowns between his time at UNLV and Virginia. He started 18 games for the Cavaliers but was benched in the 2024 season finale. He has committed 36 turnovers in his 33 games. Colandrea stands 6-foot-0 and 205 pounds.
Foster committed to the Huskers after playing two seasons for the Beavers. He made 53 tackles last season for OSU and 95 stops in his career. He’s a native of Portland, Ore., and has two seasons eligibility remaining.
McDougle commits to Nebraska from San Diego State. He made 55 tackles for new defensive coordinator Rob Aurich this past season, and intercepted four passes and broke up three more. He also played under Aurich for two years at Idaho, playing 14 games and making 58 tackles. In his final year with the Vandals, he had five break-ups and two interceptions. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
The NCAA transfer portal remains open until Jan. 16.
