Lincoln Police say since the beginning of the new year they have taken fourteen reports of fraud involving EBT cards. “The total estimated loss is more than $8,600, which is an average
of more than $615 per case,” says LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas.
Victims have been advised to contact DHHS to dispute the charges and request refunds. “LPD wants to advise those who use EBT cards to check their transaction history for any signs of fraud and report it immediately,” Thomas says.
