Lincoln Police have arrested a man who they say brutally attacked a woman in her home early Monday morning.  LPD says officers were called to the area of West ‘R’ and North Bell streets around 2:15 a.m.

A man called 911 after his neighbor knocked on his door and rang his doorbell.  According to an arrest affidavit the neighbor opened the door and found the woman bleeding from her head.  He told Police the woman was screaming “unlock the door, he’s going to kill me.”

The woman told officers she lives with Scott at their home and he had asked her for a ride to the store. She told the man she couldn’t because of work commitments.   According to the arrest affidavit, she awoke to Scott beating her with an aluminum bat.  She was struck in the knee and head and Scott threatened to kill her and then himself, according to police.

Police believe he pointed a handgun at her and again threatened to kill her and himself.  Investigators say Scott fired a round into the basement wall.  According to the report, the woman pleaded for her life before Scott fell asleep.  That’s when she went to the neighbors house.  She was taken to the hospital and treated for a broken nose and knee.

According to the affidavit, officers searched the home and found a handgun and a bloody aluminum bat.  Scott was arraigned Monday and his bond was at $1.5 million. His next court appearance is set for January 27.
