A Lincoln home was damaged by fire early Monday morning, LFR crews were sent to the home near 63rd and Tanglewood Lane around 2:45 a.m. on a report of a garage on fire and the the residents evacuating.
“Crews were able to put it out pretty quickly,” says LFR Public Information Officer MJ Lierman. “The homeowner is using the garage as a shop, so it had a lot of tools and equipment that he uses for a variety of handyman and contracting and handyman work.”
She says there was a mechanical failure in some shop equipment. Investigators estimate damage at $80,000 to property and $50,000 in contents. No one was hurt and the Red Cross was called in to help relocate the family and their dog.
