The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department will be increasing patrols during the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdown, a nationwide campaign directed at reducing the number of drunk and impaired drivers on the roadways throughout Lancaster County.

LSO will participate in the enforcement efforts though saturation patrol.   The Sheriff’s Office will increase the number of deputies, in marked patrol cars, during the evening and night hours throughout the enforcement period.

Additional enforcement will begin Friday night and continue through December 27.  The additional deputies will concentrate their efforts on traffic law violations and the detection of impaired driving violations.

Overtime for the additional deputies working during the crackdown will be paid through a mini-grant funded by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
