The Nebraska Athletic Department made it official Sunday afternoon: The Cornhuskers are heading to the Las Vegas Bowl to take on Utah of the Big 12 on Dec. 31. Kickoff is slated for 2:30 p.m. The game will televised on ESPN and broadcast on KLIN and Froggy 98 beginning with pregame at 10:30 a.m.

The invite is Nebraska’s 55th all-time bowl game. The Huskers have boosted their win total four straight seasons. NU is 4-0 all-time against the Utes, but the Huskers haven’t played them since 1992.

Utah finished the season 10-2, with its only losses coming to Big 12 Championship game participants Texas Tech and BYU. The Utes average nearly 270 rushing yards per game and 6.1 yards per carry. Utah is sixth nationally in total offense at 478.6 yards per game and second in the country in scoring offense at 41.1 points per game.

Huskers Athletic Fund members and Nebraska Football season-ticket holders will receive priority access to Nebraska’s allotment of tickets to the game beginning on Monday at 9 a.m. If tickets still remain, the general public can purchase tickets through the Nebraska Athletic Department beginning at 4 p.m.
