By Nate Rohr Dec 4, 2025 | 12:33 PM

Nebraska running back Emmett Johnson was named Big Ten Running Back of the Year by the conference offices Thursday as the league awarded its offensive positional awards and All-Big Ten honors.

Johnson rushed for over 100 yards in eight of 12 games this season, rushing for 1,451 yards and 12 touchdowns. Johnson ranks second in the nation with 1,821 yards from scrimmage. Johnson was named first-team All-Big Ten running back by both the coaches and the media.

Johnson was the only offensive player to be honored on the top three All-Big Ten teams by either the media or coaches, though Luke Lindenmeyer and Rocco Spindler were cited for honorable mention by the coaches and the media.

The Cornhuskers now await their bowl fate, which is expected to be announced Sunday afternoon.
