Former State Senator Lynne Walz announced details Tuesday regarding her statewide listening tour, as she contemplates running for Nebraska Governor in 2026.
Walz, considering a run on the Democrat ticket, will travel the state for a series of 10 town hall listening sessions, starting Wednesday, December 10 and concluding Saturday, December 13.
In her exploratory committee announcement last week, Walz said her campaign would be “for the people” while decrying an overly partisan, “top versus bottom” political system.
She told KLIN News she would decide whether to run at the start of 2026, after “hearing directly from Nebraskans about the issues they are facing.”
“Like my fellow neighbors, I am struggling with the rising costs, specifically healthcare and housing, and especially with property taxes. These are not partisan issues and we need to be laser focused on finding solutions to the things we are all struggling with” Walz said in her tour date announcement.
