The Cornhusker Marching Band will return to the Lied Center for Performing Arts for its annual Season Highlights Concert Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. Concert goers will get to experience the sights and sounds of “The Pride of All Nebraska.”
“The Cornhusker Marching Band’s season has been a success so far,” says Tony Falcone, associate director of bands and director of the marching band. “We’ve enjoyed some special performances, partnering with the university on the centennial celebration of Johnny Carson and with the Athletic Department on the blackout for the USC game. Our final show of the year will highlight the 10th anniversary of the show ‘Hamilton’ as part of a national celebration of that milestone.”
Tanner Maas is a senior actuarial science and finance major and drum major and says the Highlights Concert is an end-of-season celebration. “Spectators should expect to hear a wide array of music spanning decades, from Sly and the Family Stone to Taylor Swift. This concert is special since everyone attending is there specifically to watch the band.”
The Husker football team is bowl eligible and postseason plans will be announced in December. “Though the team is bowl eligible, we won’t know anything about a destination or the nature of the band’s participation until the bids come out after the Big Ten Championship Game,” Falcone says.
Tickets for the concert are $20 for adults and $10 for students/seniors and can be purchased in advance through the Lied Center’s box office at 402-472-4747 or by clicking here.
