UPDATE: The man shot Saturday afternoon died Tuesday from his injuries. He has been identified as 29-year-old Matthias Washington of Omaha.

Lincoln Police say an Omaha man was shot and critically wounded around 4:00 pm Saturday afternoon at an apartment near 9th and Park Avenue. LPD says officers arrived and started CPR on the 29-year-old man who was found suffering from a gunshot wound.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue took over life saving measures and took him to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. A 34-year-old Lincoln man, who police say is known to the victim, was in the apartment and is cooperating with law enforcement.
A gun was recovered at the scene. The investigation is ongoing. Crime scene investigators are gathering and processing evidence. LPD says More information will be released once it becomes available. Anyone with information that can help investigators is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000.
