The Saunders County Sheriff’s Department says two people were killed Sunday afternoon in a crash on Highway 77 and County Road A in Ceresco. Investigators say a trike motorcycle driven by 65-year-old Daniel Gaunt St. Edward, Nebraska was northbound on Highway 77 when an eastbound pickup driven by 73-year-old Michael Tasler of Gretna crossed in front of the motorcycle.
The sheriff’s department says the motorcycle collided with the front passenger side of the pickup. Both Gaunt and his passenger, 60-year-old Helen Rosso of St. Edward, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say helmets were used by Gaunt and Rosso and alcohol is not believed to be a factor with either driver.
