Nebraska opposite hitter Virginia Adriano was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week Monday by the conference office.
Adriano tallied 3.00 kills per set and 1.50 blocks per set while hitting .452 in Cornhuskers’ sweeps over Iowa and Indiana last week. She also tallied three aces in the match Thursday against Iowa. Adriano has earned the Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors twice this season.
Adriano and the Huskers are back in action Friday against Penn State at John Cook Arena. First serve is slated for 5:30 p.m., with pregame at 4:30 p.m. on B-107.3.
