Nebraska running back Emmett Johnson and quarterback TJ Lateef were honored by the Big Ten Conference Monday after the Huskers’ 28-21 win at UCLA Saturday. Johnson earned Offensive Player of the Week in the conference, while Lateef shared Freshman Player of the Week with Wisconsin linebacker Mason Posa.

Johnson became the first-ever Nebraska running back to have 100 rushing yards and 100 receiving yards in the same game. Johnson ran for 129 yards while setting a new career high with 103 receiving yards. Johnson totaled three touchdowns, pushing his season total to 14, the most by a Husker in a season since 2014.

Lateef earned freshman of the week honors after leading Nebraska to a win in his first career start at quarterback. He was 13-for-15 for 205 passing yards and three touchdowns while rushing five times for 31 yards. Lateef is believed to be the first true freshman in FBS since at least 1995 to have a game with a minimum of 15 passing attempts and less than two incompletions, 200+yards passing, three or more passing touchdowns and 30 or more rushing yards.

The Cornhuskers are idle this week before taking on Penn State on Nov. 22. Kickoff time will be announced next week.
