After honoring past work, the No. 2 Nebraska wrestling dominated their current task at hand, throttling Army 33-3 Friday at John Cook Arena.

Before the dual, the Cornhuskers honored last year’s national runner-up team and individual national champions Ridge Lovett (149) and Antrell Taylor (157), in front of a star-studded crowd that included former Olympians Jim Scherr, Bill Scherr and Jordan Burroughs and boxing champion Bud Crawford.

NU and the Black Knights split the first two matches of the dual by decision. At 141 pounds, Brock Hardy dominated, winning by technical fall over Braden Basile, 18-2. After decision wins at 149 pounds by Nikade Zinkin, defending national champion Antrell Taylor at 157 pounds and LJ Araujo at 165, Nebraska led 17-3 through six matches. Christopher Minto followed with a major-decision win at 174 pounds and Silas Allred notched a first-period pin at 184 pounds, boosting the Huskers’ lead to 27-3 with two matches remaining in the dual. After Camden McDaniel won by decision at 197 pounds, former national champion AJ Ferrari won by decision at heavyweight.

Nebraska returns to action at the NWCA National Duals Nov. 15-16 in Tulsa, Okla.
