As the federal government shutdown continues to delay SNAP benefits for thousands of Nebraskans, CHI Health has stepped up with a $30,000 donation to support the Food Bank of Lincoln.
CHI presented a check to the Food Bank this afternoon, aimed at providing meals for families affected by the pause in food assistance programs.
“Having access to healthy, whole meals is vital to our overall well-being,” said Tyler DeJong, President of CHI Health St. Elizabeth. “We are proud to support the Food Bank of Lincoln as they work to ensure our community members can put food on the table.”
Jason Pauling, Community Partnerships Director at the Food Bank of Lincoln, said the donation comes at a critical time.
“Support from partners like CHI Health St. Elizabeth helps us provide consistent access to nutritious food during these challenging times,” Pauling said. “Their generosity strengthens our ability to keep pantry shelves stocked and meet the growing needs across our community.”
CHI Health has also committed an additional $70,000 to the Food Bank for the Heartland, bringing its total contribution to $100,000 across the region.
