The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office says a man accused of posting an online threat against a popular Halloween attraction has been arrested.

Sheriff’s Investigator Sgt. Matt Barrall says the investigation began October 6, when Scary Acres security staff reported an alarming Instagram comment reading “Finna shoot you guys up.”

Investigators traced the Instagram account to Marshall Fry, an 18-year-old man living in Sarpy County. A search warrant to Meta—Instagram’s parent company—confirmed Fry’s identity. Barrall says detectives then uncovered disturbing online searches.

“He was looking up ballistic helmets, weapons, ammunition, and videos showing how police respond to mass shootings,” Baral told KLIN News. “Those searches led us to believe he was possibly planning a mass shooting.”

Deputies later arrested Fry without incident. He is charged with making terroristic threats and is being held on a $10 million bond.

Barrall credited Scary Acres staff for reporting the threat quickly.

“If you see something that gives you pause, tell law enforcement,” he said. “It’s better for us to check it out and find it’s nothing than risk a tragedy.”
