Lincoln Airport officials made a big announcement Tuesday morning. Breeze Airways will be expanding services next spring to include Las Vegas and Orange County, California. The new additions follow the successful announcement last July of non-stop flights to Orlando.
“The new flights will depart twice weekly to Las Vegas and passengers can stay on the plane for a one stop, what we call a breeze-thru, to John Wayne Airport in Orange County,” says Lincoln Airport Authority board Member Nicki Behmer-Popp.
“Before the flights have officially launched, ticket demands have been so high that Breeze Airways called us just last week to let us know that we are expanding service in Lincoln with two new destinations.”
Lincoln Airport Authority Chairperson Chris Hove said during a late morning news conference that the new service will have a huge impact on the city. “According to experts in the industry, this new flight will provide between $4 to $6 million dollars of annual economic impact to our community,” Hove says.
“These new flights will bring more people into our region and make it easier for folks to get where they need to go.”
