ESPN National College Football writer Pete Thamel reported on X Sunday that Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola has sustained a broken fibula and will miss the rest of the 2025 season. The reports were later confirmed first by local media outlets, then by the Nebraska athletic department.

Raiola left Saturday’s loss to USC with an apparent ankle injury after being sacked in the third quarter with just over 12 minutes to go. It was the only time Raiola had been sacked in the game, in a season where Raiola was seemingly under constant duress. He was sacked 27 times in nine games this season.

TJ Lateef took over as the Cornhuskers’ quarterback against the Trojans and is most likely to take control of the Nebraska offense moving forward. The true freshman is a native of Compton, Calif., just 25 miles from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, where Lateef will make his first start of his career Saturday night against UCLA. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m., with pregame coverage beginning at 4 p.m. on KLIN and Froggy 98.
