Lancaster County Treasurer Rachel Garver announced Thursday that she will seek a third term in office, pledging to continue leading with “accountability and transparency.”

“I initially ran to bring back honesty, intelligence, and integrity to the Office,” Garver said. “Since assuming the role of County Treasurer in 2019, I am proud to say that my leadership has allowed my hard-working staff to shine.”

During her tenure, Garver said she has:

  • Ensured timely and accurate collection and distribution of real estate and personal property taxes;
  • Improved customer service by eliminating lines, adding seating, and implementing a no-wait software system; and
  • Helped modernize the DMV system through the State’s software implementation project.

“I look forward to building on our progress to better serve the people of Lancaster County,” she said.

Garver earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Nebraska Wesleyan University and completed multiple leadership and continuing-education programs for county treasurers.

As County Treasurer, Garver serves as the chief custodian of county funds and tax enforcement officer, overseeing tax collection, fund disbursement, and motor vehicle services. Garver and her late husband, Jim, have three sons, two daughters-in-law, and a rescue dog.
