Lincoln Police have identified the woman found dead in a northeast Lincoln apartment complex Thursday morning.
Captain Ben Miller with LPD’s Criminal Investigations Unit says 43-year-old Tracy Henman was discovered deceased inside her home on Deweese Drive, just north of 56th and Holdrege Streets, after officers conducted a welfare check around 8 a.m. on October 23, 2025.
A 40-year-old Lincoln man known to Henman was also found at the scene with injuries to his face, neck, and arms, Miller said. He remains hospitalized and has not yet been booked into jail.
“At this time, we are not releasing his name as he has not yet been booked in jail,” Miller said “Charges are pending and are subject to change based on the outcome of the autopsy and other factors. Once he is officially lodged, that information will be shared with the public.”
Police said they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community. Investigators are still working to determine the exact relationship between Henman and the suspect.
Family members requested the welfare check after not hearing from Henman for several days, Miller said. She lived at the home with her children, though they were not present at the time of the incident.
The cause and manner of death will be determined following an autopsy expected to be completed over the weekend.
“Our Criminal Investigations Unit is working on a number of different elements of this case, including interviewing people who know the victim and the suspect and reviewing evidence,” Miller said.
