City Hosting ‘Project O Street’ Pre-Construction Open House Nov. 4

By Chase Porter Oct 24, 2025 | 4:25 PM

The City of Lincoln will host a pre-construction open house for Project “O” Street on Tuesday, November 4, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Union Bank Place lobby, 1248 “O” Street.

Project “O” Street aims to revitalize the downtown corridor between Ninth and 16th streets, including upgrades to the 14th Street Music District, the 11th Street Greenway, and nearby public spaces.

“Improvements will benefit businesses, residents, and visitors as we invest in sound infrastructure,” said Liz Elliott, Director of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities. “They include replacing a water main, improving street conditions, and helping create an even more dynamic and accessible downtown corridor.”

Construction is scheduled to begin later this fall and continue through fall 2027, divided into three overlapping phases:

  • Phase 1: Late fall 2025–fall 2026 (16th to 14th streets)
  • Phase 2: Spring 2026–fall 2026 (14th to 11th streets)
  • Phase 3: Summer 2026–fall 2027 (11th to Ninth streets)

City staff and project partners will be available at the open house to answer questions about improvements, phasing, and schedules. No formal presentation is planned.
