More than 9,000 Runners Sell Out Lincoln’s ‘Good Life Halfsy’ Race

By Chase Porter Oct 21, 2025 | 4:16 PM

The 12th annual Good Life Halfsy has officially sold out, drawing just over 9,000 runners—a record for Nebraska’s largest road race.

Organizers tell KLIN media partner 10/11 Now that registration is up more than 25% from last year’s 7,100 participants.

“Runners keep telling their friends, and their friends bring their run clubs,” said Ben Cohoon, co-director of the event. “That groundswell of support will enjoy a net-downhill course that feels fast and celebratory — a recipe for PRs, first-time finishers, and a signature event people plan their training around.”

This year’s course includes wider road closures for additional running space. The Halfsy has sold out every year since its launch, earning the 2024 title of Best Nebraska Half Marathon from Halfmarathons.net.

The race returns to Lincoln on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 8:30 a.m., finishing at The Railyard, where runners traditionally ring the PR gong and celebrate with family and friends.

“The Railyard turns into one giant ‘you did it’ moment,” said Linda Brown, sponsorship director at Pink Gorilla Events. “You see runners hit the gong, hug their people, and raise a glass — it’s the Good Life in a single snapshot.”
