Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying suspects in two separate cases, one involving a late night vandalism in downtown; the other involving a door-to-door fraud case in northeast Lincoln.

The first case occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2025, the Farmers Mutual 12th and Lincoln Mall.

LPD Video Forensics Technician Becky Keller says a man in a black cutoff shirt holding a guitar threw a rock at a glass door on their building, breaking it and causing $500+ worth of damage.

Two individuals were captured on video walking on the sidewalk, one of them with a black cutoff shirt and a guitar.

Video and photo are available below.

The second case occurred around 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at a residence near 61st and Benton Street.

Keller says the victim in this case, an 86 year old man, was scammed out of a large amount of money. Two individuals were reportedly walking door to door asking homeowners if they had any work at their house they could help with.

The victim agreed to having his driveway repaired at the cost of $69. They then informed the victim it would actually be $69 per gallon of material needed, for a total cost of $3,800. The victim agreed to this and paid the men cash.

They said they would return the following day with a receipt and to do the work, but they never returned.

They were driving a white Dodge Ram. More photo and video below.
