A Georgia woman is behind bars after Nebraska State Troopers found 130 pounds of suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop on I-80 Saturday evening. Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas says around 6:45 p.m. a trooper stopped an eastbound Nissan Altima for speeding on I-80 near the Highway 50 exit.
“During the traffic stop, the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity and a K9 with the Papillion Police Department detected the odor of a controlled substance coming from the vehicle,” Thomas says.
He says a search of the vehicle revealed several trash bags in the trunk, containing suspected methamphetamine. The street value is estimated is about $325,000. The driver, Iesha Smith, 47, of Smyrna, Georgia, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
She was booked into the Sarpy County Jail.
