Two people were injured after a driver crashed into a south Lincoln building Monday afternoon.

The car crashed near a window on the east-facing wall of Bryan Health’s Neurology Associates building, near 70th and Sterling Place, around 12:39 p.m.

Lincoln Police Captain Todd Kocian said an 84-year-old driver hit the gas instead of the break while trying to park in front of the clinic.

According to police, two people sitting inside the business were struck by the car as it broke through the building. Both people, ages 40 and 70, were transported to the hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

Despite the damage, the building is structurally sound according to a structural engineer who inspected the damage, Bryan Health confirmed to KLIN News.

A Bryan spokesperson added that the clinic will remain open today.

No citations have been issued to the driver at this time.
