Volunteers are being sought to help beautify the city during a litter clean up event on Friday, October 17. Keep Lincoln and Lancaster County Beautiful, in partnership with Lincoln Transportation and Utilities is invites community members to join them from 5 to 6 p.m.
Participants should meet at the picnic shelter in American Legion Park at 26th and Randolph streets. “Each piece of litter we pick up protects Lincoln’s streams, because if it’s in our streets, it ends up in our streams,” says Erin Kubicek, LTU Senior Environmental Health Educator.
“Even one hour of your time can make a big difference in keeping pollution out of our waterways and creating a cleaner, healthier community for everyone,” Volunteers are encouraged to sign up online at lincoln.ne.gov/NeighborhoodCleanup.
All cleanup supplies will be provided
