Disabled transit users in Lincoln can now plan trips up to seven days in advance using the VANLNK app, Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) announced today.
LTU says this gives paratransit riders more flexibility in travel planning. Riders may now schedule paratransit trips via the VANLNK app, or by phone by calling the Paratransit Office at 402-441-7109, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Riders must book reservations by 4:30 p.m. the day before their ride. Same-day requests are accepted on a space-available basis, either by phone or through the VANLNK app. Riders are encouraged to schedule return trips in advance.
Reservation confirmations are sent to the rider via phone call or text message. Once confirmed, riders are responsible for knowing and keeping track of their scheduled reservations. On Sundays and holidays, riders may leave requests on the Paratransit Office voicemail for the next business day. A dispatcher will confirm requests by phone.
LTU works to honor preferred pick-up times. High demand may require adjustments up to one hour earlier or later than requested. Reservation space is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
