Lincoln Police officers spent Wednesday morning talking about a variety of topics with residents during four ‘Coffee With a Cop’ events. Police Chief Michon Morrow told KLIN News that this is a great time to meet with residents that they don’t see on their calls for service.
“Get that time to talk with them and hear their stories of Lincoln and what it’s been like over the years and to feel their support it’s just truly motivating and rewarding.” During the first event of the morning Captain Max Hubka passed out donuts to those who showed up at the 50th and ‘O’ Street Hy-Vee.
He tells KLIN News traffic concerns along ‘O’ Street was a big topic of discussion. “There’s a lot of misconceptions of what we’re doing to try and impact that,” Hubka says. “So being able to have slowed down conversations where we can articulate the actions were taking to positively impact that, as far as safety goes for the community, has been really beneficial for us and the citizens.”
All four of LPD’s geographic teams held a ‘Coffee With a Cop” event.
