Lincoln Police say an employee of a Lincoln non-profit has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old boy who was in their care.  Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says on April 30th officers began investigating following a report to the DHHS hotline where the teenager, who was a resident of HopeSpoke, reported an incident involving employee Brandon Young.

Thomas says it was determined the incident happened on April 23 around 10 p.m.  “The victim stated Young had driven him to go shopping and on the way back, he parked the vehicle in the alley behind the facility, locked it and initiated inappropriate sexual contact with the teenager.”

Thomas says Young was immediately placed on leave and removed from other youth.  The investigation led to his arrest on September 19. He was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked for sexual abuse by a school worker, sexual abuse of a detainee and child abuse.

HopeSpoke provides outpatient services to children and adolescents with mental, emotional, or behavioral issues.
