Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying suspects in two separate assault cases.
The first case occurred around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2025, at the La Cabana bar near 32rd and Cornhusker Highway.
LPD Video Forensics Technician Becky Keller says a man was beaten unconscious in the parking lot by the individual that night. The victim told investigators they had got into three separate fights over a two hour period. According to a witness, the fights were possibly over a woman.
The first time, the two got into a fist fight before it was broken up by security. On the second instance, the suspect was reported waving a 2×4 suck with rusty nails at the victim before being tackled by security.
The third occurrence, the suspect used a tire jack and struck the victim in the head several times, knocking him unconscious.
Bystanders helped the victim until paramedics could arrive to transport him to the hospital. He was still unconscious upon arrival at the hospital, but eventually was able to wake up, at which time he was diagnosed with a concussion and released from the hospital.
The victim described the man as possibly from El Salvador with numerous tattoos. Photos are available below.
The second case occurred on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at a residence near 11th and “E’ Streets.
Keller says the suspect in this case helped himself into a home without permission, and once in the residence, he asked a child inside if their mom was home, to which the babysitter came downstairs and told him to leave repeatedly.
The babysitter told the intruder she didn’t know him and he shouldn’t be in the home. When the suspect refused to leave, the babysitter grabbed a kitchen knife to protect herself.
The man then grabbed the babysitter and began fighting her to get the knife out of her hands. After a few minutes struggling and asking “Xavier, where’s Xavier?”—the suspect left the residence.
At-home security footage captured the incident, showing the intruder appeared to be wearing thicker glasses and Burger King paper crown when he entered the home.
The mom of the residence said she had no clue who he was, but he looked like maybe someone she has seen in the area.
