August 2025 Traffic Fatality Toll in Nebraska

Twenty-two people were killed in traffic rashes on Nebraska roadways in August, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.  The fatalities occurred in 19 crashes.

Thirteen of the fifteen vehicle occupants were not using seatbelts. Of the 22 deaths, three were pedestrians and four were motorcyclists. Fifteen of the fatalities were in rural locations.  There were two fatalities on the interstate, eleven on other highways, and nine on local roads.

Since January 1st 140 people have died in crashes compared to 166 during the same period in 2024.  Additional data is available from NDOT here
