Two Arrested in Northeast Lincoln Carjacking, Assault

By Tom Stanton Sep 2, 2025 | 12:55 PM

Lincoln Police arrested two people Tuesday morning in connection with a robbery Tuesday morning near 19th and Garfield Streets.   Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says a 44- year-old man called police around 8:00 a.m. and reported his 2017 Nissan Altima and phone had been stolen.

“It’s believed the suspects assaulted the victim before stealing his black 2017 Nissan Altima vehicle, causing injuries to his head and neck,” Thomas says.  About 10 minutes later, she says officers found the stolen vehicle unoccupied in the area of 53rd Street and Woodsview Drive, which is just south of Van Dorn.

“Witnesses told officers two people had parked the vehicle, got out and ran into a nearby residence,” Thomas says.  “Officers contacted those inside the home and detained several people.”  26-year-old Gabriel Olivas and 36-year-old Jesse Robles of Lincoln were arrested and taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked for robbery.

43-year-old Jeffrey Butt Jr. of Lincoln was arrested on a warrant. The investigation is continuing.
