An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center–Lincoln (CCC-L) has been arrested by the Omaha Police Department after going missing over eight months prior.

Erica Gonzales was taken into custody Thursday and booked into the Douglas County Correctional Center. Gonzales went missing on December 29, 2024, when she did not return to CCC-L from her place of employment.

She started her sentence on March 2, 2023. Gonzales was sentenced to two to five years for theft by shoplifting out of Douglas County.

CCC-L is one of two community custody facilities operated by the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. Community custody is the lowest custody level and the least restrictive facility. Inmates are allowed to participate in work opportunities, attend school and religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
