A Columbus man is facing charges after an incident around 4:30 Monday afternoon. Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says officers were called to a disturbance near 21st and Atlas Avenue.
“34-year-old Robinson Contreras was extremely intoxicated. He became agitated and confrontational with officers as they were taking him into custody,” Thomas says. “He failed to comply with lawful orders and kicked two officers in the legs, causing pain.”
Contreras ultimately had to be placed in handcuffs, leg restraints and a helmet for officer safety. He was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked for two counts of assault on an officer, obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest.
