A 64-year-old man was arrested Saturday after allegedly pointing a handgun at employees of a local tubing company at the West Maple Road Canoe Access Park on the Elkhorn River.

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded around 11:40 a.m. on August 16 after callers reported that Larry Workman was fishing off the west ramp and became enraged when the employees told him tubers would be approaching and Workman would need to get out of the river at the ramp.

The employees told investigators that Workman waved a Glock 22 handgun at them and made threatening statements.

Deputies located Workman leaving the park in a vehicle and performed a felony traffic stop. He was detained without incident and booked into the Douglas County Department of Corrections.

Workman faces three counts of terroristic threats and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Deputies seized three firearms.
